Sustainable Success Requires A Leadership Mindset Change
Many of the articles on leadership I read last month had a focus on the so-called “soft skills” of leadership, such as empathy, communication, and being a calming anchor in times of stress and anxiety.
Of course, there is nothing “soft” about these skills. They have become essential skills and leaders who do not learn how to portray these skills authentically will continue to see employees walk out the door for other opportunities.
The links to the best articles on leadership and leadership skills from last month have been added to the Recommended Leadership Articles page of the Caliente Leadership website.
Here are the articles I found most interesting and valuable last month:

Leadership Mindsets That Elevate Performance Keynote
It is painfully obvious that the pre-pandemic models of operating and managing no longer work as well with today’s workforce. Simply stated: work is not working for many people, as witnessed by the Great Resignation and Quiet Quitting trends.
People do not want to be managed. They want to be led. Motivated. Trusted. Given opportunities to grow their skill sets and decision-making capabilities.
The way (and need) to be coached, mentored, developed, and empowered. Leaders now need to excel at the coaching and development aspects of leadership.
Leaders who manage people – instead of leading them – are the major cause of why people quit. And it is hard to grow your business when one of your key priorities and major expenses is recruiting and onboarding new people to replace staff who have left.
These are the key messages in my keynote speech Leadership Mindsets That Elevate Performance. This is an ideal talk for all those who lead people, from first-line leaders, supervisors, and managers to senior and experienced executives.
Sustainable success requires a leadership mindset change. Leaders must learn to be people-centric to drive long-term sustainable success. This applies to all leaders, in corporations, associations, government agencies (local, state, and federal), university staff, and non-profit organizations.
This presentation is based on my award-winning book Humony Leadership: Mindsets, Skills, and Behaviors for Being a Successful People-Centric Leader.
